Meet the Artist:

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
My name is Evangeline. I’m a middle school student from right here in Augusta! I’ve enjoyed making and selling homemade items since I was 5 years old. This is the first time I’ve had an opportunity to sell my creations at an official event, so I’m pretty excited! My mom has taught me the essentials about creating, packaging and presenting my product. I’m thrilled to put it all into practice! Thank you, Augusta Handmade Fair for allowing me to participate!

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
I love fashion, so that’s what motivates me to sketch and paint. I wear a lot of my designs too, so whatever colors, patterns or designs I’m smitten with at the moment is what comes from my water color pallet. I’m guilty of creating without end. My design partner (aka “mom”) is the one that nudges me to move the art through the process of becoming a pair of earrings.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Boutiques, style and my Mimi’s garden.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
The first thing I do in the morning is put on earrings!

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
God made me that way! I also love giving gifts to people. Creating pieces to share with friends brings me joy!

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
I throw so many creations away only to find that my mom has pulled them out of my scrap bin because she thinks they’re beautiful! I guess my advice would be to give your “mistakes” a second look….they may actually be beautiful!
