My name is Jhalen. I am 14 years old, and I am homeschooled. I was born in AZ, but because my Dad is a retired Army Veteran, I am transplanted here in the CSRA. I am a Leather Designer.

I design, cut, stitch, and dye everything by hand.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
My Granddad inspires me. He is a self-taught Leather-man, and because of his amazing work, I’ve aspired to be just as good one day. He has taught me so much!

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I’m always experimenting with things, that drives my Mom a little crazy. She is very supportive, but that’s why I chose my business name because our whole garage is my “lab”.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
I love all the restaurants, and events supporting the arts throughout the year.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
I like the process of my thoughts and ideas becoming real creations, this is how I express myself, and have a sense of accomplishment.
