WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
We’re a sister duo living in South Carolina and both own our own businesses (Sebastian Harper – Shanika and KiRoKa Essentials – Susane). Sebastian Harper creates body oils, face oils, face mists, scrubs, soaks, linen sprays and body balms.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Part of my products are made with herbs I grow in my garden (face mists, hair, and beard oil). Other items are mixed with essential oils. I like to experiment and play around with which scents compliment each other. 

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Nature, myself, my sons – Our children are such an inspiration to us that we created our businesses names around their names.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
I’ve always been very into DIY beauty or making some type of concoction for friends and family so this is just an extension of what I do. I also do other crafts and there’s something meditative (sometimes!) about the process and there’s a great feeling knowing you created something. 

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Just start. Work with what you have. Don’t wait until things are perfect. Labeling, fonts, packaging, booths displays, that can all be tweaked along the way. We look back at the beginning and cringe (lol!). Also, stay consistent! Do events. Meet folks in person. Online is great but there is nothing like in-person interaction. Customers love to hear your story!
