Meet the Artist:

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
Sue Beasley has been pursuing her love of pottery since 1999. She exhibits her work at shows across the southeastern United States. Sue retired from the University Healthcare system, where she worked as an audiometric technician. Sue and her husband James have been married for over fifty years. They are very active in their church and enjoy traveling. They have three children. They also have two dogs Fripp and Tybee, a parakeet Phoebe.

DESCRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Started taking pottery about 20 years ago. I do a great deal of hand-building using the impression of the Confederate Rose leaf for my bowls. Check out my website for examples of my work.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
Nature in the south.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I play the ukulele!

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
My favorite thing about the downtown area is walking the pups on the Greenway.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
It is a rewarding process and always neat to see how the different glazes turn out.

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Take chances. Some of my favorite pieces have come from taking a risk and trying something different.
