Handmade Pet Treats.

Meet the Maker:

WHO ARE YOU, WHERE ARE YOU FROM, & WHAT DO YOU DO?
I am a retired letter carrier from Hephzibah, Ga, who turned a passion for baking dog treats for my dogs into a passion for baking for your dogs as well.

DECRIBE YOUR PROCESS.
Just as you would make sugar cookie dough for Christmas cut out cookies, I mix dough from human grade ingredients. The difference is I add no salt or sugar. I do not use chemical preservatives, bouillon or baby food for flavoring. The dough is rolled and cut into the treats, then baked, with a final step to remove the moisture that leads to mold.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
What inspires me is the customers who tell me how their dogs LOVE my treats and the eager faces of regular customer’s pups sitting in front of my vendor table.

FUN FACT ABOUT YOU.
I love ‘dancing’ with one of my four dogs.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN AUGUSTA.
My favorite thing about downtown Augusta is the number of businesses with outside seating so dogs are welcome as well as their owners.

WHY DO YOU LOVE TO DESIGN, CREATE + MAKE?
Designing, creating, making treats, is a feeling of joy like no other. Working with dough brings a peace of the mind and creating brings a peace to the soul.

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD SHARE WITH OTHER ARTISTS + MAKERS?
Let your art always be a work in progress. Always watch for and research new ideas to keep your craft fresh.

Baking treats is a labor of love. I could never be paid per hour for my craft. What keeps me inspired is your love and the love of your fur babies.
